Halloween 2009
November 4th, 2009For the last month or so, Dash has gone back and forth between two potential costumes; a fire fighter and a garbage man. This boy lives to serve the public, what can I say?
When it came down to the money, he had to go with his current toddler crush. I get it. They smell way better than garbage men.
And they’re much cuter too. This is one pair of everyday rubber boots, black pants, suspenders (!), red shirt, thrifted red raincoat with strategically placed stripes of electrical tape, and one twelve-year-old, taped together fire fighter’s hat.
And though we spend a lot of the day putting out fires all over the house, the costume lasted about four minutes and hasn’t been spoken of since.
Oh and if you were wondering, Zella decided to be a 10-month old adorable baby for Halloween. No costume necessary.
Trick or treat!
New Season New House
November 1st, 2009So we finally, finally settled in to our new house! We’ve been holed up with family for the summer while we shopped around; looking at house after house after house. And what can I say? If you have high standards, you have to be willing to live with disappointment. Oh the disappointment!
But lets not focus on that. Let’s focus on this, our new house.
We’re only about two weeks in so there are many many boxes to unpack and many many (or just one really) couches to buy, and also bureaus. We’re in Yarmouth, just minutes from Portland. The house is huge, roomy, and is walkable to town and a network of trails. Basically, everything on our hit list was found in this house. Yay!
Here are a few more peeks.
So we’re home. And we have big big plans that I’ll be talking more about in the coming weeks. Goals being reached and all that good stuff. And while we dig in to make it all happen, I’ve found this from Keri Smith to be particularly inspirational. Perhaps you will to.
It’s just a really good reminder for all of us who don’t really care to work for the man anymore.
Date Night: Michael Moore and Pad Thai
October 5th, 2009Heading out the door shortly for date night (!) on this lovely warm fall day. Dinner at [yet to be determined but it’s gonna be good] followed by Capitalism: A Love Story.
Smokin’ hot new leather boots out on the town? It’s going to be a good night.
Hope yours is too!
TweetAnother Year
September 8th, 2009Well what a lovely couple/few days that was! Celebrated my thirty-third birthday (ahem), visited with friends from out of town, and found a place to live for at least the winter. Not too shabby for a three-day weekend.
My favorite girl was there.
So was he.
And this movie star.
But this photo pretty well sums up what’s been happening around here.
This is the best birthday cake I’ve ever had. And while it doesn’t look quite so good (and strangely, quite a bit smaller) in this photo, it is fantastic. And trust me, you want a slice.
And now, back to reality, and a very quick week. Lots to do, lots to pack for a week in Atlanta in just a few days. Sigh. Did you all have a nice weekend?
